Translation of Life of Guru Padmasambhava into English

This is a translation project of the Life of Guru Padmasambhava. The original text in Tibetan was compiled by late Dr Rigzin N. Bhutia, then Research Officer at the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.
 
Guru Padmasambhava, who is considered the second Buddha in the Himalayan plateau, established Buddhism in Tibet in the 7th century.  He is regarded as a saviour of the Buddha Dharma. Thanks to Guru Padmasambhava, Buddhism could survive all along the Himalayan regions. It is said that Guru Padmasambhava blessed the Hidden Land of Sikkim and the majority of the people in Sikkim follow the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The landscape of Sikkim is a tangible proof of the Guru’s presence and blessings for there are caves, rocks, rivers and streams which are said to have been blessed by him.
 
This translation project aims to make the Life of Guru Padmasambhava available to students who do not read or understand Tibetan, but are pursuing studies on Guru Padmasambhava.
