Contribution of Tibetan Lamas to Sikkim

This research project on the contributions and activities of Tibetan Lamas to Sikkim reflects the historical ties linking Tibet and Sikkim.  Following His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s advice, this project was undertaken in 2008. The biographies of the first 18 Lamas (‘Tibetan Lamas’ Contributions to Sikkim after 1959’ by Acharya Tsultsem Gyatso) were published in 2008. The biographies of the 24 remaining Lamas are currently in press.
